BORACAY HILLS HOTEL
Boracay Hills Resort
Resort Reviewed by WOW!
Date: April 24, 2008
Review by: Rick St John

On April 24th I visited

Boracay Hills Resort

At the southeastern side of Boracay Island you will find the Boracay Hills Resort. The place is one of the most exclusive and luxurious Boracay hotels in the area. Boracay Hills resort is not a beachfront resort, but it is just 10 minutes away from the main white beach of Boracay Island. The plus factor is the serenity, peacefulness this hotel will offer and provide its numerous guests.

What strikes the difference for Boracay Hills is that the place is privately owned and operated. The prominent Clayton-Atanacio family has bought the location and redeveloped the former home of a former Swiss Ambassador. The result is a fresh and positive transformation that distinctly offers Boracay tourists and vacationers a place where home can be felt. Services and accommodations are so personalized, the hotel resort boasts that guests come as strangers but leave the resort as friends. The managing family personally sees the handling and treatments accorded to its visitors.

The accommodations of Boracay Hills Resort offer 10 five-star guestrooms. Since the formal inauguration of Boracay Hills in March 2005, the resort’s accommodations have been actively gaining good and raving reviews. All rooms are fully air conditioned and are equipped with cable televisions, refrigerators in mini bars, posh bathrooms with hot and cold shower and working telephone lines with domestic and international calling ability.

Deluxe rooms are on the ground floor and are furnished with private terraces for pool sight seeing. A studio room is a double room with kitchen and terrace seating. Super deluxe rooms have finer and more sophisticated furnishings with extra beds, and balconies that overlook the garden and the pool as well.

Additional facilities will truly make any guest rave about staying in Boracay Hills. Aside from the outdoor swimming pool, there is a playground for children, an outdoor cinema and an in-house fitness center or gym for guests who aim to stay in shape while in a vacation.

Concierge and additional services include travel booking assistance, vehicle and driver rental, and secured and high-speed Internet access. The resident chef of Boracay Hills could also be commissioned and asked to cook specially prepared meals for guests in all occasions. Chambermaid and laundry services are also provided.

The Boracay Hills Hotel may not have its own restaurant, but, as mentioned, its resident chef will prepare special meals and beverages upon request.

Daily breakfasts are lavish and sumptuous and could fit the taste of any nationality.

Daily menus include pastas, salads, meat and fish cuisines and melts. Cocktail drinks and fresh fruit shakes are also served.

Boracay Hills also has its own wine cellar, so wine lovers could really have a great time staying in Boracay Hills.

How to get there:

By Plane via CATICLAN

The fastest way to Boracay is to fly Manila- Caticlan Airport on Panay Island. Airlines like SEAIR, ZEST AIRWAYS, CEBU PACIFIC, AIR PHILIPPINES and PHILIPPINE AIRLINES flies to Caticlan daily. Flight time Manila – Caticlan ranges from 35- 50 minutes.

Once you get to Caticlan, you need to take a ferry or banca to reach the island. Because Caticlan is very near the port, it will only take about ten minutes to get there.

By Plane via KALIBO
PHILIPPINE AIRLINES and CEBU PACIFIC also fly to Kalibo, which is 1 ½ hours bus from Caticlan. Flight time Manila- Kalibo takes 50 minutes. From Cebu City, the fight takes about the same
If you booked the flight to Kalibo you will have to take a bus ride (about 90 minutes to a couple of hours), to get to Caticlan and the port. In any event, once at the port, the ferry or banca ride will take about twenty minutes.

By Ferry ( Manila- Caticlan)
For those who are on a budget travel, you can take the ferry boat from Manila to Dumaguit. Dumaguit is situated on the northern side of Panay.
First you have to drive to North Harbor in Manila where the ferries to Dumaguit are stationed. Once you arrive at Dumaguit you have to go to Caticlan. This can be done either by bus, or if you like, the jeepney.

Another way to get to Boracay from Manila is to take the following route: first you take a bus ride going from Manila all the way to Batangas. From there you will board the ferry that transports you to Tablas in Romblon. From the port of Odiongan, you can take a jeepney to another port (either Santa Fe or Looc) and get a banca to Boracay Island.
